Recently, I have been really thinking and meditating on KINDNESS. Being kind to others. As the dictionary defines it: indulgent, considerate, or helpful. People always will remember how you make them feel whether we are ‘ugly’ or kind. I am by nature somewhat of an introvert, but however do enjoy mingling with others and love getting to know people… It took an act of kindness for me to break out of my ‘shell.’

My freshman year of high school (awkward stage) my family moved to the other side of town and started going to a new school and church. My two brothers were in the same youth group and knew some people from school that went to the same church. My few friends from school didn’t attend the same church, so I felt very lonely going to youth functions with no one to talk to. One day while awkwardly sitting alone, a girl two years older than me asked if I would sit with her and her friends. She was kind enough to see that I needed a friend and welcomed me. After this, it made me want to come to more functions and helped me with my confidence.

This kind and simple gesture has always made an impact on me to be aware of others’ needs and not always my own. Life is not about us, pleasing ourselves, and getting ahead. Ephesians 4:32 says to ‘Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you’. We are to be loving and tenderhearted. I hope to always be aware and sensitive to others in my daily walk. Go on and do something nice for someone today =D

“For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone”.  -Audrey Hepburn

Sexy, Flirty, & Fun Boudoir Session

What to expect for YOUR boudoir session? How do you prepare for your boudoir session? We interviewed the lovely T to get an idea of her thoughts on her sexy lingerie boudoir session with The Green Lace!  We absolutely love getting to know our clients and making them feel gorgeous inside and out! Here is what T had to say:

Jan (me): Why did you want to do a boudoir session?

T: I wanted to do a boudoir session because my whole life I always felt like I was too short, too this or that. I thought that the boudoir session was an opportunity to celebrate my body as it is, and to appreciate the fact that it lets me dance, run, and is beautiful exactly how it is!  It was my celebration of who I am now!

Jan: How did you prepare for your boudoir session?

T: Physically, I got a manicure and pedicure. Got a hair trim & made sure my hair was workable. I tested my hairstyle and makeup last night. Went through some of my own stuff and “looks” that I was comfortable with.

Jan: What are some ways you felt comfortable for your boudoir photography session?

T: From the very beginning of the session, you got me coffee and date cake and we talked. You helped me to go through outfits and accessories I brought. We went over my makeup and touched-up my hair. I was comfortable with how I looked before we got started. You are awesome to work with. You helped me ‘feel’ what you were going for, know where to put my hands, and to be comfortable with my body as we were shooting. You are easy to work with and inspiring! It’s very comfortable working with you and I enjoyed it =)

Jan: Do you think other women should experience their own boudoir shoot?

T: Any woman should do a boudoir shoot! The session is an opportunity to show your body acceptance and to celebrate the beauty of one’s own body. My body’s going to change, but I can just be grateful for what my body allows me to do, and the beauty I possess no matter what my body looks like. That is something that women in general need to know; there’s not one definition of beauty, there’s not one size of beauty. Each of us have beauty in and of ourselves. A boudoir session is an opportunity to show our body some love ;)
